Flight route

This calculator checks delayed flights, cancellations, denied boarding and missed connections under EU261 and UK261. Choose the airports and indicate whether the operating carrier is based in EU/UK/CH/EEA.

Operating carrier

For departures from EU/UK/CH/EEA, the rules usually also cover non-European airlines. For arrivals into this area, the operating carrier's jurisdiction matters.

Quick passenger ruleIf the flight qualifies under EU261 or UK261, arrival delay of at least 3 hours may mean compensation up to €600 per passenger. The exact amount depends on distance and airline-side exceptions.

The result is a first estimate. ClaimWinger later verifies the booking, actual arrival time, disruption reason and airline responsibility before submitting the claim.

Compensation amounts by distance

EU261 and UK261 use fixed compensation bands. Ticket price does not decide the amount.

250 €
≤ 1,500 km

Short distance

Flights up to 1,500 km, often short European routes.

400 €
1,500-3,500 km

Medium distance

Flights from 1,500 to 3,500 km, plus many longer intra-European routes.

600 €
> 3,500 km

Long distance

Flights over 3,500 km, including many Europe to long-haul routes.

What the calculator checks

Whether the departure or arrival falls under EU261, UK261, Swiss or EEA passenger-rights logic.

Whether the arrival delay, cancellation notice, denied boarding or missed connection meets the legal threshold.

Whether the operating carrier is covered when the flight arrives into Europe from outside the area.

Whether extraordinary circumstances may require manual legal review before the claim is filed.

FAQ: flight compensation calculator

Is the calculator result final?

No. It is a fast estimate based on the route and disruption details you enter. A real claim still needs verification of documents, actual arrival time and airline responsibility.

Can the calculator check cancelled flights too?

Yes. It covers delays, cancellations, denied boarding and missed connections on one booking. Cancellation cases also depend on notice period and the quality of the replacement flight.

Is compensation paid per passenger?

Yes. EU261 and UK261 compensation is generally calculated per passenger, not per booking. A family booking can therefore create several separate passenger claims.

When can a flight be worth €600?

Usually when the route is over 3,500 km, the flight is within scope and the qualifying delay or cancellation threshold is met. Long-haul delay reductions can still apply in some cases.
